Does God exist? This is the most important question that you'll ever encounter, for how you live your life will ultimately depend on the conclusion to this answer. For example, if there is no God then where did everything come from, how do we understand meaning and what's the purpose of not only life but your life? If there is no God then how do we distinguish between good and evil? Furthermore, what is good and evil in a universe without God? Finally, if there's no God then why do so many people over such a long period of time believe that God not only exists, but has also made Himself known?

Beginning June 1st on Celebration Sunday, we will begin a new summer sermon series entitled The God Question. 2 Peter 1:3 states, "by His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence" (NLT and emphasizes is mine). As we explore the Bible's theological claims on God's existence, we will gain a deeper understanding on God as real, knowable, present, and revealed through Jesus. It’s gonna be good!

Throughout the summer, you'll have opportunities to ask your own thoughtful questions about God which we’ll happily answer in July. The Bible is the best source when it comes to all things about God, so we’ll definitely draw from the Biblical account. But we’ll also look at what other Christians have had to say about God in the last 2000 years. Go to fcogtulare.com to submit your questions now.

The trajectory of your life depends on how you answer The God Question. It is vital for today and eternity. At the conclusion of 2 Peter, the brief epistle ends on this injunction: "rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (3:18a). As you learn more about the truth of God, that He is real, knowable, present, and revealed through Jesus, your life will change and you will mature in remarkable ways.
